I am interested to be part of UKM Kesihatan workforce. How should I proceed?

  • You do not have to fill up job application. Just send your resume and your job application letter to Human Resource Department and the specified position you applied for.

Does the company will respond to my emailed resume by sending the acknowledgment receipt?

  • The company will not respond or reply to any job application email. But all application data will be stored in the data bank application and the data will be retrieved when there is a vacancy and the candidate profile matched with the user department requirement.

How do I know if I quality for the position I applied?

  • Only qualified or shortlisted candidates for vacancies that exist will be called for interview and the company will inform the candidates about the interview via phone and email.

What is the method of notification to the successful candidate or unsuccessful candidate?

  • Only successful candidates in the interview will be contacted by the company either via phone or email. After 2 weeks if the candidate did not get any notification or feedback from HR, then the candidate is deemed to have failed in his/her interview.

Implant FAQ

Do you produce Implant for the operation?

  • No, we do not produce implant but we are handle and manage the purchase and supply of implant from the supplier to the entire patient at UKM Medical Centre and UKM Specialist Centre including of the billing and payment.

How do I pay for the Implant?

  • You may pay with cash, credit card, debit card or guarantee letter and insurance.

What if I cannot afford my Implant bill?

  • You may have to apply for fund from any welfare or organizations such as Jabatan Kerja Sosial, Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam, etc.

When do I have to apply for the fund?

  • The approval for the fund must be received before the operation is scheduled. We cannot proceed for operation without the approval/guarantee letter for the fund.

What if my Implant bill is exceeds the approval fund amount?

  • The excess bill must be borne by the patient. Prior to operation, the patient/next of kin will be asked to sign a letter of undertaking for the implant payment. A legal action may be taken against you should there be no payment received.

Can I use my Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP/EFP) account to pay for the Implant bill?

  • Yes, you may use the fund from Account 2. (Please refer to the term and condition set by the KWSP/EPF). We could only proceed with the operation upon receiving the KWSP's notification letter.

Is the operation open 24 hours?

  • Our operation hours is from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm on weekdays and closed on weekends.

  • We specialize in providing teaching ads including of teaching slide and plastinated specimens.

Do you produce the plastinated specimen locally?

  • Yes, we produce the plastinated specimens locally at our plastination lab, Department of Anatomy, UKM

Do you have another option if we do not interested with the local product?

Do you have warranty for you product?

  • All of our locally processed plastinated specimens offer 2 years warranty whereas the imported plastinated specimens offer 1 year warranty.
  • Meanwhile , for the teaching slides, we will replace with free of charge should there be any technical defect found and returned to us within 14 days from the delivery date.

Is there any minimum order?

  • No minimum order required for all of our products.

Are you registered with the Malaysian Optical Council?

  • Yes, our optometrist is registered with the Malaysian Optical Council.

How do I get there?

  • We are located at ground floor, PPUKM Lobby and just beside Kedai UNIKEB

Can any Guarantee Letter be accepted here?

  • No, we do not accept any guarantee letter/insurance card. Payment is either by cash/credit card/debit card.

Is the outlet open 24 hours?

  • Our operation hours is from 8.30 am to 5.30pm on weekdays, from 9.00am to 5.00pm on saturday and closed on sunday & public holidays


Polyclinic FAQ

Is UKM polyclinic cater only UKM staff and UKM student?

  • No, like any other polyclinic we see all patients regardless whether they are from UKM or not.

Are there other branch of the polyclinic?

  • At time being, polyclinic UKM seksyen 15 Bandar Baru Bangi is the only clinic we have.

Can UKM student get treatment from the clinic at any time?

  • UKM students are only allowed to get treatment from the polyclinic after 5pm on weekdays and also during weekends and public holidays. If they come during office hours, then they have to pay for the charges.

Is the clinic open 24 hours?

  • Our operation hours is from 8.30 am to 10pm on weekdays and from 10am to 6pm on weekends.

Are there ambulance and X-ray services provided by the polyclinic?

  • At present we do not provide both services. However, for X-ray service it is available at Clinic Mega which located just next to us. For ambulance services we utilize the available public ambulance provided by the government agencies or via the private ambulance services.

Does the polyclinic gives discount for its blood test package?

  • Yes, from time to time there will be promotions on blood test package. Kindly ask the front counter about it.

Does the polyclinic provide vaccines for hajj and umrah?

  • Yes, we do and it is provided at a very reasonable price.

What do we need to prepare before doing blood test?

  • For most blood tests the patients does not need to do any preparation. However, for cholesterol and fasting blood sugar (FBS) tests, patient has to fast from 11pm the night before and come early in the morning to get the blood taken.

How long will we get the result of the blood test?

  • The tests are done at a private lab and usually it will be rady by 3 working days. The polyclinic staffs will call the patients as soon as the blood results are available.

Does provide any house call?

  • At present we do not provide house call. Any emergencies please contact 999 for ambulance services which will bring you to the nearest hospital emergency department.

Where is UKM Specialist Centre located?

  • 7th Floor, Clinical Block, UKM Medical Centre, Jalan Yaacob Latif, Bandar Tun Razak, 56000 Cheras, Kuala Lumpur

What are UKMSC operating hours?

  • Clinic Operational hours:
  • Monday - Friday : 8.00 AM - 5.00 PM
  • Saturday (by appointments only) : 8.00 AM - 1.00 PM
  • Sunday & Public Holiday : Closed

What are your visiting hours?

  • 8.00AM - 10PM (children below age 12 years old are not allowed after 10.00PM). We appreciate our patient's visitors, be it their family or friends to our hospital. However, kindly comply with our Doctor's and nurses' request the patient to be treated in private.

What kind of document do I need to bring upon admission?

  • Admission letter from the consultant
  • Your identity card
  • Health Insurance card/Guarantee letter from your company/insurance
  • Past or present medical records, x-ray film or lab result (if any)
  • If you are a cash-paying patient, please bring along the deposit as required.

What do I need to bring with me on admission day?

  • Personal toiletries - toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, comb/brush (for self comfort)

Do you accept credit cards and personal cheques?

  • We do accept credit cards/debit cards, but it is the hospital's policy we not accept personal cheques

Do I need to pay deposit?

  • A deposit will be required at the time of admission. The amount will depend on the types of cases. Modes of payment accepted are cash, major credit cards/debit cards and bank draft only (payable to UKM KESIHATAN SDN. BHD.). We regret that we DO NOT accept personal cheques.

Does UKM Specialist Centre accept Guarantee Letters?

  • UKM Specialist Centre also recognizes and accepts Guarantee Letters from corporation and insurance companies that have established credit facilities with us. Please present your Guarantee letter upon registration or admission. Otherwise, you would be required to pay a deposit upon admission.

What should I do if I have insurance cards?

  • Please present your insurance card upon registration or admission to ensure smooth processing of your admission. A deposit will be collected from you if the approval from your insurance is still pending or the insurance company declined to cover the case. All decision by the insurance company is final and any appeal is to directed to the respective insurance company by the patient.

How can I claim back the deposit refund?

  • Refund shall be returned for cash paying patient if the deposit paid is more than the actual costs or final bill. However if the deposit is insufficient to cover the incurred charges, you will be advised to top up the deposit during your hospital stay.
  • For credit card payment the refund will be debited directly to the payer account.

What are the discharge procedures?

  • Please to be informed that the check out time is by 1200 PM. For any discharges after 2.00 PM, an additional half day (1/2 day) room fee will be charged. It may take approximately up to two (2) hours to process the final bill and may be longer for insurance.  Our ward clerk will notify you once the final bills are ready.

How long do I have to wait for my medicine and bill to be ready?

  • About an hour after the doctor's round and complete all the discharge summary for cash paying patient/company's GL. For insurance, manage care organization/third party administrator payer; it will take about about 2 to 3 hours.
